Cardiac Negligence Claims
Heart disease and cardiac conditions are a common cause of death in the UK. Where cardiac treatment is mismanaged or there are failures in diagnosis then there may be a claim for compensation.
Some common cardiac conditions that can be misdiagnosed include coronary heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, aortic disease, heart failure (pulmonary oedema) and abnormal heart rhythms.
Failures may arise in the diagnosis and treatment of heart attacks,Ā arterial occlusion,Ā aortic dissectionĀ and infections of the heart such asĀ endocarditis.
Errors can also occur duringĀ heart surgeryĀ or where there was a failure to refer a patient to specialist cardiac services.
Other cases in which we have acted included a failure to adequately manage atrial fibrillation which has led to a life changing stroke.

Can my attorney just do what they like with my money?
You can only make an LPA while you have mental capacity so it is a good idea to think about it early, even if you are young and healthy. The chances are that you wonāt need it for a long time and maybe not at all. However, if something unexpected happens, for example if you are in an accident, then having an LPA in place will be one less thing for your loved ones to worry about.
If you make an LPA now and change your mind about who your attorneys should be, then you can always make a new one later.
