Anaesthetic Error Claims
Our team are experienced in bringing successful claims for anaesthetic errors. Such claims are usually for errors made by an anaesthetist during surgery which can cause devastating injuries including severe brain damage.
What happens if anaesthesia goes wrong?
Examples of when anaesthesia can go wrong and there may be a medical negligence claim include:
- a failure to properly intubate a patient such that they are deprived of oxygen and suffer brain damage
- incorrect placing of injections, epidurals and nerve blocks causing permanent nerve damage
- failures in the effectiveness of the anaesthetic due to wrong administration
- failure to maintain blood pressure
Anaesthetic Error Compensation
Compensation can be claimed to put a claimant back in the position they would have been in but for the anaesthetic error, so far as this is possible. The amount of compensation depends on the injury caused as well as other factors but may include sums for any future care, treatment and accommodation needs as well as a sum for pain and suffering.
If you or a family member has suffered as a result of failures in anaesthetic treatment, we can support you through the process of bringing a claim for compensation. Where you have lost a loved one, we can also assist in bringing a compensation claim for the dependents of the person who has died.Ā Please contact us to discuss how we can help.

Can my attorney just do what they like with my money?
You can only make an LPA while you have mental capacity so it is a good idea to think about it early, even if you are young and healthy. The chances are that you wonāt need it for a long time and maybe not at all. However, if something unexpected happens, for example if you are in an accident, then having an LPA in place will be one less thing for your loved ones to worry about.
If you make an LPA now and change your mind about who your attorneys should be, then you can always make a new one later.
