An accountant or IFA would usually refer their client to an insolvency practitioner. However, at the very early stage other solutions may be more suitable.

This is because any insolvency practitioner appointed will ultimately be obliged to investigate the conduct of the directors. This could lead to proceedings in the event that the directors have breached their fiduciary duties.
