Claire says:

There's a huge discrepancy between the amounts the male and female England players get paid. However, no doubt this is justified by statistics that can't be argued with. At present the male game attracts greater crowds and higher viewing figures.

The women's game now has the advantage to try and attract new players. At a relatively early stage in its development, these elite player squad agreements will allow young girls to see that playing rugby is now a legitimate career path. This will hopefully assist in increasing participation, which will be crucial in building the sport and therefore achieving more equal pay between men and women.

Claire Parry has extensive experience of investigating and presenting fitness to practise cases of all levels of complexity. Claire has experience of sports law and is keen to accept instructions in anti-doping, selection and disciplinary cases.

She completed a secondment at UK Anti-Doping, where she was involved in investigating and presenting hearings before the National Anti-Doping Panel.  She is also a qualified disciplinary panel member for England Netball and is on the pro bono panel at Sports Resolutions.
