UK Visas and Immigration Online Application Service

The Home Office has announced that within the next few weeks it will be rolling out a full online Tier 2 visa application facility for migrants and their dependants. Currently this facility is only available for Tier 2 applicants and their dependants applying using the Tier 2 priority and postal service.

The facility will now be rolled out for those Tier 2 migrants using the same day premium processing facility. This will avoid the need to complete lengthy paper based application forms for the main applicant and each dependant, as only one application per Tier 2 family group will need to be completed online.

The same online portal can also be used to book the biometric appointment and pay the visa fees. Biometric appointments will need to take place within 2-45 days from the date the application is submitted online. Appointment bookings can be amended within the 45 day window but if migrants do not attend an appointment within 45 days the booking fee will be lost. It is also important to note that if an application is withdrawn after it has been submitted online, the full visa and booking fee will be forfeited.
