Serious Fraud Office under fire over big investigation failures and lack of convictions – Nicola Finnerty quoted in The Times

Nicola Finnerty, Partner in our Criminal Litigation team has been quoted in The Times giving her thoughts on the SFO two years on from the appointment of Lisa Osofsky.

Nicola quoted:

It is widely accepted that SFO directors need time to make their mark. However, Osofsky is two years into a five-year stint and we are still waiting to see what that mark might be."

The clear lack of progress by the SFO has led to a growing feeling in the City that she is not ready, willing or able to take on difficult corporate cases and there are no signs that this is about to change."

All in all we are left with the feeling the SFO desperately needs some notable successes in the second half of her tenure."
