Immigration update: Update on salary restrictions for sponsored workers

Further to our last alert of 27 March, we now provide an update in relation to Home Office guidance for sponsored workers.

As called for in our blog earlier this week, the Home Office guidance has now been updated to include reference to sponsored workers including those under Tier 2 who have their salary reduced due to the current circumstances. On a temporary basis, a reduction to 80% of the salary or £2,500 per month, whichever is the lower, is permitted.

The applicability of this new guidance to both furloughed and non-furloughed sponsored workers is explored further in our updated FAQs. We are updating the FAQs regularly and so please do check back into them for the latest updates.

If you have any questions about this update or any other immigration matter, please contact a member of our immigration team.
