Goldman’s Europe boss among 17 bankers charged in Malaysian 1MDB probe – Rebecca Niblock quoted

Rebecca Niblock, Partner in Kingsley Napley's criminal team, was quoted in The Telegraph online on the 9 August following Malaysia's decision to file criminal charges against a number of Goldman Sachs bosses as part of a probe into one of the worlds biggest financial scandals.

Rebecca quoted:

There's an extradition treaty between the UK and Malaysia that means extradition is possible – they could be extradited to face trial or after the trial has taken place to serve a sentence".

But it is likely that any extradition request would be hard fought. The court in this country would have to look at whether their human rights would be protected and other factors, such as whether its an offence here".
