Consultation on the revisions to the Attorney General’s Disclosure Guidelines and the CPIA Code of Practice

Gemma Tombs, Practice Development Lawyer in our Criminal Litigation team, was interviewed by LexisNexis about the revisions to the Attorney General's Disclosure Guidelines and the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act (CPIA) Code of Practice, and the way these will affect both parties to criminal proceedings and the current disclosure process.

Gemma considered the following questions:

  1. What is the background of this consultation?
  2. What are the main changes being proposed? What practical changes will practitioners notice?
  3. Are the proposals achievable? What will the challenges to success be?
  4. Are there any missed opportunities?
  5. What is the likely timescale for any ultimate changes?
