Changes to the indefinite leave to remain rules for work permit holders

The UKBA has announced that work permit holders may now count the five year period required for indefinite leave to remain from the date they were first granted leave to enter the UK, as long as they entered within three months of obtaining entry clearance. This brings work permit holders in line with Tier 1 and Tier 2 migrants.  It will now no longer be a requirement to extend leave to remain in the UK where there is a shortfall of three months or less from the five years required because the migrant did not enter the UK immediately on obtaining entry clearance.
