Head of Clinical Negligence James Bell appointed to AvMA’s Specialist Clinical Negligence Panel

We are pleased to announce that the Head of our Clinical Negligence team, James Bell, has been appointed to the Specialist Clinical Negligence Panel of Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA).

AvMA is an independent patient safety charity where providing advice and support to patients is at the centre of its work. It was AvMA that pioneered the concept of clinical negligence as a separate specialism within legal practice, having listened to the experiences of patients who had sought to get redress and were let down by their legal advisors. The charity went on to establish the first accreditation scheme for clinical negligence lawyers – the AvMA Specialist Clinical Negligence Panel – which has come to represent an essential quality mark for clinical negligence practitioners. The Panel’s trademark is a commitment to providing specialist clinical negligence services focussed on the needs of the client.

James' accreditation highlights his outstanding experience in the field as well as his commitment and dedication to his clients.

James has been working as a medical negligence lawyer for more than 30 years, with experience across a vast range of complex and high value claims. He has particular specialisms in catastrophic orthopaedic and brain injuries. James is known for the confidence he instils in clients and his investment in each individual case. He is ranked in Chambers and Partners where feedback notes him to be ‘excellent in every way.’

On his accreditation to the AvMA Panel, James comments:

I am delighted and honoured to be appointed to the Panel. I fully support and share the aims and objectives of AvMA in terms of patient safety and justice. This Panel is about the provision of excellent legal services but also about lawyers putting the client at the centre of their practice and going the extra mile for them. This is what I always strive to do and will continue to do so."

The Kingsley Napley Clinical Negligence team now has two AvMA accredited lawyers, the other being Legal Director and birth injury specialist Kirsty Allen.
