Nick Rollason interviewed on BBC Radio Foyle’s Breakfast Show

Nick Rollason, head of our immigration team, was interviewed on BBC Radio Foyle's breakfast show about the difficulties that can be encountered for people with dual British and Irish citizenship.

The interview was about the situation of Northern Irishman, Chris Cooke, who is a dual Irish and British citizen, and who has encountered numerous problems in getting his Filipina wife, who has lived in Northern Ireland since 2007, Irish citizenship.

As a result of various issues faced by the family, they have applied for Irish citizenship for Mrs Cooke but this is not without problems. Nick discusses the situation and possible solutions for the family, including the possible ramifications if Mr Cook renounces his British citizenship.

BBC Radio Foyle is BBC's local radio station in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland.
